In Northern Alberta, Nunee Health Board Society is integral part of the community of Fort Chipewyan, commonly known as Fort Chip. Nestled on the southwest shore of Lake Athabasca, Fort Chip was established as a trading post in 1788 and is one of the oldest settlements in Alberta.  It is a northern community and can only be accessed by plane or boat in the summer and by a winter road in the winter.  There are regular flights from either Edmonton or Fort McMurray.

Fort Chip has about 1,000 residents. Many of the residents are Mikisew Cree First Nation, Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation and Fort Chipewyan Metis.  It has two grocery stores, a recreational center with a pool, a museum, and elementary and secondary schools.

Full-Time Wellness Worker

Nunee Health Board Society is seeking a Wellness Worker to join its Community Wellness Team in Fort Chipewyan. Reporting to the Mental Health & Wellness Manager, this position supports individuals and families experiencing mental health and substance-use challenges and assists with community wellness programs and events.

This is a full-time, Monday-to-Friday position. Salary is based on experience. Open until a suitable candidate is found.
